FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
What browser and operating system can be used for remote access to NYUMC clinical applications?
OnsiteHealth provides remote access to clinical applications. OnsiteHealth is certified to run with IE6 or IE7 running on Windows XP Service Pack 2 (or 3) and Windows Vista. OnsiteHealth can also be accessed using Mac OS X with Safari.
Most of our applications run successfully using native Mac OS
environments. Although we do not officially support non-native Mac
environments (i.e. Parallels or VMware), we find that many of our Mac
users can successfully access OnsiteHealth and its associated
applications using said environments.
Exceptions:
- PACs (MagicWeb) is accessed remotely using a client that is locally installed on remote PC. The PACs (MagicWeb)
software requires IE6 running on Windows XP Service Pack 2 (OR 3) if
you are exporting BMP images. Otherwise, you can use IE6 or IE7.
- I-Chart/Enterprise Workstation (Nuance/Dictaphone) is not compatible with Windows Vista.
What version (s) of Microsoft Office is supported?
For Windows, we support Office 2007 and Office 2003. Please remember to
save documents created in Office 2007 in Office 2003 compatible format
so users of Office 2003 can read them.
For Mac, we support Office 2004 and Office 2008.
Is Apple's Leopard OS supported?
Apple's Leopard OS is supported for OnsiteHealth. Leopard also does not work with certain older wireless network infrastructure.
NYUMC's older wireless network infrastructure will be upgraded across the entire campus by September 2008. The upgrade will provide consistent access and provide secure guest access throughout the campus. In addition, Leopard will work on wireless across all campus locations.
